Petra Vaessen is an international fashion photographer based in Amsterdam. Born to Dutch parents she was raised in Germany, France and the Netherlands giving her a unique multicultural upbringing.
Having always had a passion for capturing beauty in every individual, in 2011 she moved to New York City to hone her photography skills as an apprentice to renowned photographer Pieter Henket. After assisting famous photographers in New York and Amsterdam, in 2015, she decided to stop assisting to focus on her own career. In the years after, Petra has worked for brands like Tommy Hilfiger, H&M, Calvin Klein, Glamour Magazine amongst others. Her professionalism is seen before, during and after a project, working closely with clients to help them develop, not only their final image but the entire concept around the project.
