Luke came to directing from a Fine Art background, breaking into commercials through the Saatchi and Saatchi Cannes showcase with work from Kessels Kramer and SWH in Amsterdam – with Artcore! Luke likes to direct simple things deadpan and realistic.
“I like the viewers to feel that this could be them or a friend and then throw in a twist that makes us chuckle at our eccentricities. I like to make the everyday look beautiful just the way it is.”
His love of the subtleties and quirks of human emotion is fed by relentless street photography and the work he does among his community in Brixton, South London. Over his career he has developed a skill for getting great performances out of non-actors -most epically with 100 non-actors from the ages 1-100 for Muller. He is presently developing a tragic-comic sketch show about the differences between men and women, called “it’s not me, its you” and developing his first photography book “Everyone feels things differently”.
